Children and Families with Autism

Did you know over 1 in 68 children (1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls) are diagnosed as having autism spectrum disorders (ASD).  Although rates are increasing rapidly, the cause is still unknown.  If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with ASD, you are not alone.

Children with autism often suffer from related medical conditions sometimes including: allergies, asthma, epilepsy, digestive disorders, persistent viral infections, feeding disorders, sensory integration dysfunction, sleeping disorders, and more.

Although there is no cure for autism, through early intervention and treatment, the many symptoms of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders can be greatly improved and in some cases completely overcome.

Coming soon:  help with early screening and diagnosis, providing educational and behavior interventions including ABA training, RDI and sensory therapy, floortime, occupational therapy, physical therapy, sensory integration therapy, speech-language therapy and more.

The severity of ASD can vary greatly and is based on the degree to which social communication, insistence of sameness of activities and surroundings, and repetitive patterns of behavior affect the daily functioning of the individual.

Has your child been diagnosed with ASD, or has he or she shown early signs that make you believe your child may suffer from autism?  If you need help or support, please contact us for more information.
